A crowd estimated at more than 250 turned out at the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Regional Airport Saturday for a “candy drop” commemorating the Berlin Airlift at the end of World War II.
As kids waited for the plane to take off and pass overhead — dropping chocolate bars on parachutes — parents and grandparents had their hands full keeping the kids on the white concrete area where they had been instructed to wait. [read full story in the Daily Advance]
